Don't have a pic of the Chinese restaurant that we went to for breakfast. Can anyone who has it send it to me? D: The Chinese food there was surprisingly good! :D

And Stanford here we come! :D

When the bus drove into Stanford, it was like WOW. The school's palace-like surroundings and its serene environment made everything seem so surreal.

It was only 10degC outside. So damn cold T.T Oh ya, I lost my gloves in the middle of the trip and I didn't realise it until I came back to Singapore O.O

After walking around and taking pictures, a professor came and showed us around the school.

The round thing in the above picture is actually a overhead speaker connected to a laptop. The semi-spherical shape of the speaker helps to contain the sound to reduce noise pollution in the library.

There's a panel like this outside every classroom briefly showing what's happening inside the classroom right now. It even allows teachers to book classrooms on the spot :O

We were then brought to an empty classroom where the professor explained how Stanford constantly tries to upgrade its classrooms to facilitate learning.

The classrooms have foldable tables so students can easily move the tables to the sides of the classroom when they don't need them.

There are 2 huge screens connected to a PC and there's a special mouse for the navigate around screens freely.

This is a room on the research floor (for the post-grads) for students to relax in. The specially designed chairs are so comfy.

By the amount of bikes, you would know that biking is the main form of transport in the school. LOL the school compound's so big that it's not very walkable x)

We went up the bell tower cos there was still some time till out next meeting with Singaporeans studying in Stanford.

There're so many cars in the school O.O But that's expected cos Stanford is a private (& super rich) school.

Hmm I don't know the name for this but I think it's an instrument used to play the bells (shown below). It's only used for special occasions, e.g. when Herbert Hoover's granddaughter got married.

Haha the pink fountain's really intriguing eh? It's actually for the Big Game! xD Stanford's school colour is red, that's why they dye the fountain red a week before the game. The fountain turns pink after a few days so tadah!

We went for lunch after that. Guess how much time we were given for lunch? 15 min O.O Too busy eating to take photos of the cafeteria X: After that, we went for the school tour.

The student guide walking backwards (who also told us about the walking backwards 95% thing, just like the Berkeley guide).

The students take the countdown really seriously O.O The siren / horn is deafening and is blown every single HOUR throughout the day in the days leading up to the big game.

Notice the little bear at the top? Hahaha that's Oski the bear (Berkeley's mascot). It's stabbed to death up there O.O Kinda cruel though X:

The school tour ended at the bookstore. The hoodies were really cheap but we can't possibly wear Stanford hoodies mah O.O Bought a toy that says "Pull my leg" (actually you can, literally). LOL moon was particularly amused by the toy and kept playing with it O.O When I brought it home, my mum's first reaction was "好可爱哦!!!" -.-

Afterwards, we went for the talk by Singaporeans currently studying in Stanford.



We learnt more about studying overseas, esp. in the U.S..

We went for a talk on saving electricity too, which showcased innovative ideas coming from all parts of the world. The Japan team's idea was so... wrong, but super hilarious hahahah.

At night, students from the NUS college in Silicon Valley came to talk to us. They're selected students from the NUS under a special programme organised by the school. They are currently studying in Stanford University AND juggling full-time jobs at start-up companies in Silicon Valley for a year or so, before coming back to Singapore to continue their studies full-time at NUS.

After that we had pizza for dinner :D The portions in U.S. are always extra large O.O

It's another long day and we reached the hotel at 9+p.m.. Kinda sucks when we had to wake up early the next day ):
